8 oz. uncooked pasta*, any kind, such as penne or bow-tie
1 lb. hamburger
½ onion, chopped
1 jar spaghetti sauce
8 oz. mozzarella cheese, grated
¼ C. parmesan cheese, grated
8 oz. mushrooms, sliced (optional)
Brown hamburger and onion together, add mushrooms near the end of cooking. Drain fat. Cook pasta according to package directions, then add to hamburger mixture. Add pasta sauce and cheeses, reserving some mozzarella for the top. Spoon into a casserole dish. Cover and bake for 25-30 minutes at 350˚.
* Experiment with different pastas. My 6 year old Wes, didn't like this until I used a combination of wheels, shells, spirals and penne.
