Strawberry Cake Dessert


4        pkg. Danish Dessert

6        C. water

4        pkg. frozen/4-6 baskets fresh strawberries

1         pkg. cake mix (white, yellow or strawberry)

2        3-oz. pkg. cream cheese (room temperature)

2        C. powdered sugar

1-1/2  pints whipped cream (or 2 large Cool Whip)

Bring Danish Dessert and water to a boil, stirring constantly.  Boil 1 minutes (mixture will turn clear and very thick).  Add strawberries.  Cool until cold.

Coat two 13”x9” pans with vegetable spray, and dust with flour.  Mix cake mix per instructions on box, and pour into pans.  Bake 12-15 minutes until done, then cool.

Cream the cream cheese.  Add powdered sugar. Fold in whipped cream/cool whip.  Spread cream mixture on top of cakes.  Seal edges. Add cooled Danish dessert on top.  Refrigerate 2 hours or longer or overnight.

We have two February birthdays, so we sometimes make it for a birthday cake.
