Snickerdoodles


¾        C. soft butter or margarine

1-½     C. sugar

2        eggs

2¾      C. flour

2        t. cream of tartar

1         t. baking soda

¼        t. salt

2        T. sugar

2        T. cinnamon

Mix well butter, sugar and eggs.  Sift flour, cream of tartar, soda, and salt; blend well.  Roll into walnut-sized balls.  Roll into a sugar-cinnamon combination mix and coat outer surface of ball. Place 2" apart on ungreased sheet.  Bake at 400˚ for 8-10 minutes.

Makes about 5 dozen.
