Orange Rolls

2        T. yeast 

1        C. warm water

1        cube butter

1       C. boiling water

2        beaten eggs

6        C. flour

2/3    c. sugar

1 1/2 t. salt

Pour yeast over warm water and set aside.  our boiling water over butter in large bowl.  Add sugar, salt, eggs, then yeast mixture and flour.  Mix with a spoon; the batter will be sticky.  Place dough in refrigerator overnight; the next day, roll dough into a rectangle.  Spread the following filling on top.

Heat in a sauce pan:

1  cube butter

1   c. sugar

orange zest from one orange

Roll dough together (like cinnamon rolls) and cut into 1" pieces with dental floss.

Place in greased muffin tins or pan and let rise 2-4 hours.  Bake at 375° for 15-20 minutes.

You may need to place muffin tins on top of another cookie sheet while baking to prevent rolls from burning on the bottom).

Soften yeast in water.  Combine scalded milk and butter.  Stir in sugar, salt and eggs.  Let cool.  Stir in yeast mixture and enough flour to make a soft dough.

Icing:

1         C. powdered sugar

1         t. warm water

1/2      t. vanilla

Mix together and drizzle over rolls when they come out of the oven.

Makes 2-3 dozen rolls.
