Ginger Snap Cookies

 

¾        C. shortening

1         C. brown sugar

¼        C. molasses

1         egg

2¼      C. sifted flour

2        t. baking soda

½        t. salt

1         t. ground ginger

1         t. cinnamon

½        t. ground cloves

granulated sugar

Cream shortening, brown sugar, molasses and egg until fluffy.  In a separate bowl, sift together flour, soda, salt, ginger cinnamon, and cloves.  Stir into molasses mixture.

Form into small balls.  Roll in granulated sugar.  Place 2" apart on greased cookie sheet.  Bake at 375˚for 12 minutes.
